Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan has landed a new project, and will produce a World War II action-drama called The Liberators, Variety reports. The historical film will be made through Jordan’s own entertainment company, Outlier Society Productions, along with Safehouse Pictures.
Written by Madison Turner, The Liberators is based on the 761st Tank Battalion, a fully African-American combat unit whose bravery led to the desegregation of armed forces. Known as the “Black Panthers,” the legendary 761st were referred to as “one of the most effective tank battalions in World War II.”
Currently, it has not yet been determined if Jordan will star in The Liberators. According to Variety, the Award-winning actor is also working on a Sci-Fi drama for Netflix, directing the film adaptation for The Stars Beneath Our Feet, and starring in The Thomas Crowne Affair. Jordan will also star in HBO’s Fahrenheit 451, which will premiere in May.
