An official trailer for the Sundance favorite Hearts Beat Loud has been released, which stars Kiersey Clemons (Dope), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), and Sasha Lane (American Honey).
Directed by Brett Haley, Hearts Beat Loud centers on widow father Frank (Offerman) and his teenage daughter Sam, (Clemons) who become an unlikely songwriting duo during the summer before she attends college at UCLA. As the band increases in popularity, the film focuses on Sam’s decision to either continue with the band and support her father, or pursue her education across the country. In the trailer, we’re given a preview of the sincere father-daughter relationship that the two share, while also sympathizing with the teenage embarrassment that Sam initially feels about starting a band with her parent. Moreover, the trailer features Brooklyn scenery, a glimpse into Rose (Lane) and Sam’s friendship, and heartfelt humor.
Hearts Beat Loud will open in limited release on June 8, Variety reports. The indie musical drama also stars Ted Danson, Blythe Danner, and Toni Collette. Watch the trailer below:
