This year, fans can expect an exciting revival of the classic 1950s sci-fi series The Twilight Zone from Oscar-winning producer and director Jordan Peele. The highly anticipated show will premiere as part of the CBS All-Access streaming program, and Peele will host and narrate the series as well. Simon Kinberg, best known as the writer for Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Sherlock Holmes, will also executive produce.
Deadline reports that Jessica Williams and DeWanda Wise have been the latest to join the series, starring in an episode that features Jefferson White, Jonathan Whitesell, and Lucinda Dryzek.
So far, it has been announced that Sanaa Lathan, John Cho, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, and others have joined the anthology series. There’s little known about the upcoming storylines, but Vanity Fair reveals that Sanaa Lathan will star in an episode titled “Rewind,” which is speculated to be based on an episode from the original series, where a gambler uses a magical tape recorder to go back in time.
While this isn’t the first Twilight Zone reboot, it is arguably the most anticipated since the work behind Jordan Peele’s name is already gaining legendary status. The stakes are high, but Peele’s mastermind has yet to fail us–and The Twilight Zone is a flawless fit for the Get Out and Us director.
Back in September, a teaser trailer was released for the reboot, and although it revealed next to nothing, we were able to hear a sneak peek of Peele’s narration. Hopefully, we’ll receive a proper trailer and an official release date in the near future! For now, watch the teaser below:
