Following the announcement that Jaro Media had inked multihyphenate Alonge Hawes to a series development deal, the entertainment platform has set his new series, titled ‘Silver & Gold’ for a release in Fall 2022.
The series, which is described as a “blend of comedy, action, drama, and Afro-futurism set against the backdrop of Atlanta’s criminal underground” will be written, directed, and executive produced by Hawes, who will also serve as show-runner. The series will star Quentin Williams (Blue Collar Hustle) and Brittaney Traylor (Black On Both Sides) as a pair of suave and sexy lovers who also happen to be amongst the best and most elusive thieves in the world.
Silver & Gold is the latest series to be created under Alonge Hawes company A Million Stories One Pen Productions; with Shani Hawes, Joshua Dennard, Jamal McClendon, Rodderick Fedd, and Cordarol Sanders set as producers. The official series logo has been unveiled below.
Silver & Gold will mark Alonge Hawes’s return after a nearly three year hiatus following the second season of the critically acclaimed series Black On Both Sides, which was given a 4 star rating from film critic website Indyred. The series also won Hawes Best Director honors from the L.A. Shorts Awards as well as Best Web Series from the Cult Critics Film Awards. The ending of the series marked the culmination of Hawes’s previous production deal with streaming platform Seeka.tv.
In addition to Silver & Gold, Hawes’s pact with Jaro Media is to include a content channel of sorts which will spotlight Hawes’s work as well as other curated content on Jaro’s entertainment and streaming platform.
