The American Black Film Festival has announced its lineup of feature films for 2023, which will include popular actors such as Pam Grier, Omari Hardwick, and Mike Colter.

The festival is scheduled to take place in Miami Beach, FL from June 14-18 and has received an unprecedented number of submissions from countries like the US, UK, and Mexico. The Best of ABFF Awards ceremony, hosted by Dondré Whitfield, will acknowledge many of these films on June 17.

This year’s festival will showcase two productions by the duo of Oz Scott and NBA star Kevin Garnett, as well as other noteworthy films such as Phels High and Jagged Mind. The highly anticipated Netflix film, “They Cloned Tyrone,” featuring John Boyega, Jamie Foxx, and Teyonah Parris, will be the opening film.

Lena Waithe will serve as the festival’s 2023 ambassador. Nicole Friday, the president and COO of ABFF Ventures, is enthusiastic about showcasing emerging filmmakers and empowering stories. Additionally, the festival will offer seven days of virtual programming for audiences to explore the art of storytelling.

Tickets are available for purchase via ABFF. Check out the full list of films via Shadow and Act.
