JaroGO is expanding its film and television library through a strategic licensing agreement with Buffalo 8 Distribution, creating another pathway for independent filmmakers to reach viewers through transactional and advertising-supported streaming.
The agreement adds titles from Buffalo 8’s catalog to JaroGO’s growing entertainment ecosystem through Transactional Video on Demand, or TVOD, and Advertising Video on Demand, or AVOD, release windows.
Since the agreement was announced on June 2, JaroGO’s streaming library has grown to more than 350 titles, including films, television series, documentaries, original productions, and independent entertainment.
Viewers can access the library online through Watch.Jaro.com or explore the platform at JaroGOmedia.com. The JaroGO mobile app is also available for iOS and Android users in the United States and Canada.
A Larger Home for Independent Entertainment
The Buffalo 8 partnership supports JaroGO’s strategy of pairing premium content acquisition with focused audience development. Rather than simply adding titles to a digital catalog, the platform plans to support releases with coordinated marketing, publicity, and promotional campaigns.
“Buffalo 8 has built an impressive reputation for identifying, developing, and distributing quality content,” said Dr. Len Gibson, chief marketing and content officer. “By bringing these titles to the JaroGO platform, we are creating new opportunities for filmmakers while providing audiences across multiple international markets greater access to compelling stories and premium entertainment.”
JaroGO plans to use digital marketing, social media engagement, influencer collaborations, public relations, television and radio advertising, strategic partnerships and targeted media placements to build awareness around the licensed projects.
The approach reflects an increasingly important challenge for independent filmmakers. Securing distribution can place a project in front of viewers, but sustained promotion is often required to help a film stand out in a crowded streaming marketplace.
Buffalo 8 describes its distribution model as an accessible, transparent approach that connects filmmakers with streaming platforms, television networks, and international partners. The company works across TVOD, AVOD, SVOD, theatrical, cable and non-theatrical distribution channels.
“Like Ah Boss” Leads the Partnership
The first Buffalo 8 title licensed by JaroGO for both TVOD and AVOD windows is “Like Ah Boss: Journey of a Soca King,” a documentary chronicling the career and cultural impact of Soca music icon Machel Montano.
Directed by Bart Phillips and Che Kothari, the film traces Montano’s journey from a 7-year-old child prodigy to an internationally recognized performer whose career has spanned more than four decades.
At the center of the documentary is Montano’s demanding schedule during the 2015 Trinidad Carnival season, when he completed 16 performances in seven days. The film combines that high-pressure period with archival material and personal reflections examining the ambition, sacrifice, and resilience behind his career.
Often called the “Michael Jackson of the Caribbean,” Montano has helped carry Soca music beyond its regional foundations and introduce Caribbean sound and culture to audiences around the world. Buffalo 8 released the documentary on May 29, 2026.
“Like Ah Boss: Journey of a Soca King” is available to watch on JaroGO now.
Original Programming Meets Strategic Licensing
The Buffalo 8 agreement adds another dimension to JaroGO’s expanding content strategy.
The platform has also invested in original and exclusive productions, including “2 Preachers On A Mission,” “Our Story: The Original Public Announcement,” and “Baltimore Hustle.” The combination of original programming and licensed independent releases gives JaroGO an opportunity to build a recognizable entertainment identity while supporting a wider range of filmmakers and storytellers.
JaroGO launched in February 2026 as a unified creator and entertainment platform combining social media, live streaming, films, television, news, podcasts, gaming, and a creator marketplace. The ecosystem is designed to give audiences several ways to discover and engage with content while allowing creators to build direct connections with their communities.
The company’s streaming and original-content operations are part of a broader creator-first strategy that connects entertainment, community engagement and creator commerce within one platform.
More Buffalo 8 Titles Expected
The first wave of Buffalo 8 titles is expected to continue arriving on JaroGO throughout 2026.
For Buffalo 8, the agreement creates an additional distribution outlet for its catalog and the filmmakers it represents. For JaroGO, it strengthens a library that has already surpassed 350 available titles while supporting the platform’s long-term plans for international expansion.
The JaroGO app is currently available in the United States and Canada through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
