In honor of what would have marked her 84th birthday on November 26th, Tina Turner’s enduring legacy takes center stage in a newly released comic book.
Crafted by TidalWave Comics, Turner is the latest icon to be recognized within the pages of the comic’s “Tribute” series. Penned by Michael Frizell and brought to life by Ramon Salas’ illustrations, “Tribute Tina Turner” meticulously recounts the life journey of the revered Queen of Rock and Roll across 22 vibrant pages. It delves into her artistic growth, her turbulent marriage with Ike Turner, and showcases her unyielding strength in the aftermath of a challenging divorce.
“It’s bittersweet to write about the loss of Tina Turner because I grew up admiring her and listening to her music,” said Michael Frizell in an interview with theGrio. “Her ability to engage concertgoers and listeners is unmatched.”
In addition to Turner, the Tribute series spotlights legendary entertainers who have impacted the world, including Prince, Whitney Houston, and Donna Summer.
“Tribute: Tina Turner” is available to purchase now in both digital and print formats.
