Silver & Gold, the critically acclaimed Jaro Media-presented heist series continues to garner favor throughout awards season, with the announcement on Monday, September 30th that the series has garnered four further nominations at the upcoming Minnesota Webfest.
As previously announced back in August, Silver & Gold was already up for Best Mystery/Thriller Series and Best Series Script. Now it can add the categories for Best Dramatic Ensemble, Best Dramatic Performance, and Best Representation of Communities of Color to the nominations list. In the Dramatic Ensemble category, the cast of Silver & Gold are nominated against the casts of Itaewon by Night, Dark Arcadia, The Fades of Papineau and The Meteorites. In the Best Representation of Communities of Color category Silver & Gold is pitted against the Canadian web-series Hogtown, the hunting themed reality series Modern Carnivore, and the dramedy series The Meteorites. Finally for Best Dramatic Performance, Joshua Quinn, who portrays affable art forager Aasim Flyntwood, is up against Raul Alejandro Valencia Lemus (The Fades of Papineau) Nils Benedikt Hoddinghaus (The Folks) Naomi Cranston Haag ( (mis)placed) and Laura Dowling-Shea (Rosemary Street)
Silver & Gold is no stranger to victory at the Minnesota Webfest, having won Best Series Script at the 2022 festival for series creator/executive producer Alonge Hawes. He will look to repeat in the category with the series third episode script, ‘The Brilliance Meijin Affair’, which sees the protagonists engaged in a battle of intellect and wit against a shrewd, astute, and unseen foe for a priceless artifact.
Silver & Gold stars Quentin Williams as charismatic gentleman thief Charles Goldar, Brittaney Traylor as the enthrallingly enticing Bahiya Payne, Shani Hawes as brilliant computer hacker Ciera Valentine, and Roberto Cruz as the indomitable conman Sosa Gerena. Julian Robinson, Joshua Dennard, Angela Van Tassel, Joshua Quinn, Eduardo Bryant, and Alonge Hawes himself round out the supporting cast. Richard DeVaughn, Eduardo Bryant, and Mary Bouche serve as executive producers. Cordarol Sanders, Joshua Dennard, Jamal Mcclendon, Rodderick Fedd, Shani Hawes and Quentin Williams serve as producers.
Founded in 2017, the Minnesota WebFest is the first film festival dedicated to the web series format in the Upper Midwest. Their stated mission is to bring the best web entertainment in the world to Minnesota, and to show off Minnesota creative talent to the world. Minnesota WebFest is a member festival of the Web Series World Cup and part of the North Star Story Summit. This year’s screenings and festivities will take place in Duluth, Minnesota from October 3-7th.
