‘Silver & Gold’ continues to dominate its way through the film festival circuit. The Jaro Media original series has been named an official selection to nine different festivals, garnering 18 nominations, with 6 wins. Now the series can add three more victories to its total as it’s been announced that ‘Silver & Gold’ is a major awards winner at the Cult Critic Film Awards.
‘Silver & Gold’ was named Best Web/New Media for the episode “The Brilliance Meijin Affair.” Series creator/showrunner Alonge Hawes was awarded Best Director whilst series cinematographer Joshua Dennard was presented an award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography.
“The Brilliance Meijin Affair,” the series 3rd official episode, is one of its most ambitious. The feature length running time, complex plot, and fun payoff involving the main characters solving riddles that involve famous Atlanta landmarks, has been praised by audiences and critics alike. The award wins mark the fourth citation of recognition for the series itself, having been named Best Web Series by the Oniros Film Awards and presented with the Critics Choice Award at the Virgin Spring Cinefest amongst other accolades. It marks the second award for Dennard’s cinematography, and the first for Hawes’s direction. Hawes was also awarded Best Series Script by the Minnesota Web Fest and Best Screenplay by The Oniros Film Awards.
