Ava DuVernay Launches Stay-At-Home #ArrayMatinee African Independent Film Series

Every other Wednesday, watch and tweet about the selected independent films by using the hashtag #ArrayMatinee.

Ava DuVernay’s company Array is helping to provide weekly digital entertainment for audiences during these exceptional times. Beginning today, Array will launch their independent film series titled #ArrayMatinee,  showcasing five films from the company’s extensive roster through May.

Although the films being offered are already on Netflix and Vimeo, DuVernay’s goal is to bring people together virtually. By using the hashtag #ArrayMatinee, viewers are encouraged to watch and tweet, allowing them to connect with others around the globe through the wonderful medium of film. 

Films will be featured from South Africa, Libera, Grenada, South Africa, and Ghana.  Stream them on Vimeo and Netflix every other Wednesday through May 13th.

OUT OF MY HAND (Liberia) – April 15, 1PM PST (Vimeo)

THE HOUSE ON COCO ROAD (Grenada) – April 22, 1PM PST (Netflix)

 VAYA (South Africa) – May 6, 1PM PST (Netflix)
