Amazon MGM Studios, in collaboration with Amazon Music and the Academy of Country Music (ACM), recently hosted the third annual “I’m Just Me: A Charley Pride Celebration of Inclusion” during ACM Awards Week. This event, named in honor of Charley Pride, a trailblazing Black artist in country music, recognized individuals who are making significant contributions to diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Honoring Champions of Diversity
The 2026 “I’m Just Me” event honored a diverse group of artists, executives, and advocates:
- Beverly Keel: A respected music journalist and dean at Middle Tennessee State University.
- Compton Cowboys: An equestrian collective promoting community and Western heritage.
- James Marsh: National Account Director at Warner Music Nashville.
- Joseph Hudak: Deputy Editor and Head of Country at Rolling Stone.
- MŌRIAH: A rising Latin-Country artist who also performed at the event.
- Stephanie Davenport: Vice President of A&R at Warner Music Nashville.
A Night of Celebration and Reflection
Hosted by Marcus K. Dowling, a country music journalist and previous honoree, the event featured a special performance by MŌRIAH and a curated portrait studio experience by G L Askew II. The celebration served as a platform to reflect on Charley Pride’s legacy and the ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive future for country music.

Charley Pride (1934–2020) was a pioneer who overcame racial discrimination to achieve international superstardom. His numerous accolades, including multiple Grammy Awards and the ACM Pioneer Award, underscore his lasting impact on the genre. Pride’s influence extends beyond music, with his legacy living on through initiatives like the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation’s Charley Pride Fellowship Program.

The “I’m Just Me” celebration is a key part of ACM Awards Week, building anticipation for the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards. Hosted by Shania Twain, the awards will stream live on Prime Video, showcasing the best in country music.
