Kendrick Lamar, SZA’s Mesmerizing ‘All The Stars’ Video Is A Cultural Masterpiece

We’re still taking in all the cosmic and African beauty.

Grammy-Award winning artist Kendrick Lamar and SZA have released the visuals for “All The Stars,” a track that will be featured in Marvel’s Black Panther.

Directed by Dave Meyers and “the little homies” who remain unnamed, the music video begins with Kendrick Lamar on a boat, carried by a sea of people with swaying arms. We’re then provided with a first look at the African fashion that encompasses the video, which is strikingly beautiful. Flash forward to SZA, who takes us on a mesmerizing journey into the cosmos. Paired with her ethereal sound, this is an experience in and of itself. From there, the visuals heighten, becoming even more extraordinary–there’s even a moment where actual black panthers make an appearance. To add icing to the cake, elements from the work of Jaro featured artist Lina Iris Viktor have been incorporated in the most stunning fashion.

We couldn’t be more impressed. From the numerous African cultural references to the cosmic, otherworldly visuals, we can’t recommend “All The Stars” enough. Watch for yourself above, and let us know your thoughts.

“All The Stars” is one of the many songs for Marvel’s highly anticipated Black Panther, which hits theaters on February 16th. For more information about the film, please visit Marvel’s website.

Update 2/12: Unfortunately, it appears that Lina Iris Viktor’s work was borrowed without permission, and a lawsuit is being filed for copyright infringement. For more information on the lawsuit, click here
