The full-length trailer for BET’s two-part miniseries, The Bobby Brown Story, has finally arrived. Created as a follow-up to the network’s critically acclaimed The New Edition Story, the Bobby Brown miniseries begins where the New Edition story left off.
Spanning 30 years of the talented singer’s life, the miniseries will focus on Brown’s wildly successful yet troubled career as a solo artist after departing from the legendary boy band, New Edition. According to Shadow and Act, the series will also center around Brown’s personal life, including details regarding his affair with Janet Jackson and marriage to Whitney Houston.
Last year, BET’s The New Edition Story received praise from fans and critics alike, and was even awarded an uncommon 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thus, we have extremely high hopes that the Bobby Brown Story can live up to its prequel. Judging by the trailer alone, we’re quite confident that we won’t be disappointed.
Written by Abdul Williams and directed by Spike Lee protégé Kiel Adrian Scott, The Bobby Brown Story stars Woody McClain, Gabrielle Dennis, Mekhi Phifer, T.K. Carter, Laz Alonso, Lil Rel Howery, Lance Gross, and Alyssa Goss.
The Bobby Brown Story premieres on September 4th. Watch the exhilarating trailer below:
